Ready for every rescue. With?Apple.

Based in Glendale, Wisconsin, North Shore Fire Rescue offers life-saving services to nearly 65,000 people across seven surrounding towns. The team operates five stations, fields a fleet of 21 fire engines and ambulances, and has a staff of more than 100 people to keep their community safe every day. And it’s a growing community — over a period of 15 years, service calls have more than doubled.

To keep up with evolving needs, North Shore decided to modernise its operations. Leadership chose Apple devices and services because they’re easy to manage and packed with intuitive features the crews love. In addition, iPad streamlines their day?to?day, and its durability can withstand the bumps and bruises that come with the?job.

“We’re continuing to transform operational workflows and drive efficiencies with technology. Apple hardware, software and services help make this possible.”
Robert?Whitaker,
Fire Chief, North Shore Fire Rescue

Switching from paper documents to apps on iPad has saved North?Shore 30 to 40?minutes each day. It’s valuable time crews can use to focus on what matters most — supporting those they serve. Along with working faster, they’re reporting higher satisfaction in completing their daily tasks.

Apple technology is integrated into North Shore’s workflows. Crews use iPad to access training materials, checklists and patient intake forms. They even get reminders on Apple?Watch to take a moment to breathe. And because of Apple’s foundation of privacy, North Shore has peace of mind knowing that department materials and patient information are secure.

Maintaining North Shore’s fleet is seamless with Apple and third?party apps. The Operative?IQ app on iPad helps the team keep vehicles and stations stocked and regulation compliant. And with the Imagetrend Elite Utilities app, first responders can quickly scan patient IDs to share data privately with receiving hospitals — saving precious time during the transition of care.

Chief Robert?Whitaker and his team manage all devices from the station with an Apple Business Essentials (ABE) subscription. ABE enables them to add apps to any iPad or Mac, wipe a lost device, or approve repairs in minutes — all remotely. Faster repairs mean less downtime. And the repairs are fully covered with AppleCare+ for Business Essentials.

With Apple, North Shore works smarter, is better prepared and responds faster. And it all happens with trusted devices that don’t compromise security or reliability.
